I consider myself sort of a pro of slow living 😏 easy to be one when I have a privillege to not work for now and don’t have children yet. Anyway, for me it comes down to listening to the natural rythm of the body and not the ambitions of the mind. What do I feel like doing? Not what do I think would be the best use of my time? We’re not high-efficiency production machines, we’re human beings. And I say it with a grain of spiritual humility. Meaning, that we can allow ourselves to wander around simply admiring the world without the constant need to control it.

Oh, this is just lovely! Glad to meet you, Katherine, and welcome! I agree with your thoughts 100% and have been "downshifting" for a couple of years. The busyness pushed at us from the culture at large makes us less aware of what is important to US. We are not consumers: we are citizens. We are humans, given this short little pinpoint of time in which to be. So happy for your family that you are putting what matters to all of you first! Chickens ahoy! 🐔
