Preparing for something new
Got Plans?
We’re a year out from some pretty extensive changes, we think. One of the things about planning a change is that it gives you a chance to prepare. Preparation is important, and what you prepare, specifically, has a lot to do with the endeavor you’re pursuing, right?
I would say this is a kairos moment for our family, and I for one am extremely excited for our future plans.
kai·ros. (ˈ)kī¦räs. plural kairoi. -rȯi. : a time when conditions are right for the accomplishment of a crucial action : the opportune and decisive moment.
Preparation is an excellent time to reflect, it isn’t only about doing, it’s also about stopping. A checklist only gets done if there’s time to do it, and there’s only time to do it if you’re not doing things that aren’t on the checklist.
These past two weeks I’ve been slowly amending my schedule to make room for the things that are part of our future plans. Sorting it out has been a bit bumpy, but I learned an old adage today, frequently used in trading, “cut your losses and let your winners run”. I love that!
Preparing for something, like a project, is a great way to redesign a habit stack and alter the way you use the minutes during your day. Some of these habits may be single serving, and their usefulness may expire when the project is finished. Other new habits may be more permanent fixtures in your life and turn out to be aligned with your values, or a personal code.
Are there any projects in your future?
How might you use this moment of opportunity to better align your daily actions with what’s to come?
Have you recently started any new habits you hope might become long standing?

Good luck with all of your future endeavours.
What is the big project you're starting? Or is too early to share?
