Snug: Entry 1
An Introduction and the first entry
Introduction
Greetings all. I’m exploring yet another method of storytelling. This will be a story told in a series of 250 word posts, this is an intentional limitation. I want to see what it feels like to add a constraint to how much I say in a post, without constraining how I express myself.
I have an idea of how many entries this story will be, but I’m not entirely sure so I won’t share that number just yet.
This will be a very different type of story for me, and the idea for it came in the most unexpected way.
I saw a request for submission for a short story contest and immediately this story popped into my mind. I’m not entering the contest, but I didn’t want this interesting idea to go to waste.
Enjoy!
Snug
First I sensed nothing, well as far as I can remember. One moment I was oblivious, all was blank. Somehow though, in another moment, I was aware. I know not how this awareness possessed me. Perhaps it was the vibrations. I have no eyes, ears, or a nose, but I can feel vibrations in the air. I can feel these vibrations so thoroughly that I can ‘read’ the sounds on the wind.
Every decibel is its own fingerprint and each fingerprint’s touch delivers a signal, and every signal carries a message. I did not develop this skill, it has always been with me, since the start of my awareness. This is how I ingest the inputs from the world around me. I have learned many things since the beginning, one of those skills is the reason I can tell you this story now.
I digress.
Hello, my name is Snug, I think. Well it’s what I call myself now, anyway.
My beginning started with a click, a touch, a turn, a twist, then a flip.
This story is from my perspective. Which will be unique because my perception is different than yours, I guarantee it. Through my origin story you’ll find I am a ‘what’, whether or not I’m a ‘who’, may be debatable. I may not have human sense collectors, but I am sentient, I’ll prove it.
I’m a sentient ‘what’.
Join me on my historical tale, as we weave through time you’ll see the world through my touch.

'Snug' makes me smile. I look forward to following the tracks of this sentient 'what.'
I’m hooked! And I love that it’ll be short snippets, digestable in one short sitting. Or bingeable if I miss a few.
Hello, Snug 🍄
