I liked this post a lot, I haven't read the four agreements, so thanks for a synopsis. I also liked your view the notion that even if imperfect, the spiritual warrior keeps practicing to get better. In that, we all have a chance.
There is a reason that *the second agreement* is a well-worn phrase in my brain: it's because this is the one I find most challenging. It's also the most hopeful because I can, as I practice this wisdom, see how much growth there has been over the years. "Rolling with it" when appropriate, not dying on a hill over something stupid, and choosing what is not necessarily personal yet feels ethically important and therefore worth standing up and fighting for: these are the complexities and lessons life has graciously given us to struggle with.* Sounds a lot like the Serenity Prayer, now that I re-read this.
*And yes, it's ok to end a sentence with a preposition! The pedantry instilled in us was well-intentioned but mistaken in assuming that English syntax must follow the Latin. Not. End-prep away. Or as Winston Churchill is quoted to have quipped when chastised for doing so: "That is the sort of nonsense up with which I shall not put."
Thank you for sharing!! I struggle with the next agreement, so so much.
I've noticed a lot of growth in areas I've historically been insecure. Don't take anything personally has been a liberating tool. I'm happy I was introduced to this book. It isnt easy and there are always complexities, especially where there is passion.
I'm glad these agreements have helped you as well 🙏🏾🙂

It's worth a read for sure! It's great contemplative material.
My end of the year gift was finding Kate Morgan Reade and through her, finding you.
Word tools for helping to think clearly...

Thank you for bringing these to many, and for reminding me of them!
