Great poem Reg! I learned something new today about poetry… I should get more into it.
As far as tattoos go I have several and I love the process from the design and brainstorming to the tattooing itself. I really like text tattoos so yours in different languages sound really awesome !
My current text tattoos are - Carpe noctem - it’s Latin for seize the night. For me nighttime is the time for art to blossom. So it’s kind of like an artist tattoo.
Then I have “all good” on my arm, kinda reminding me that everything bad will pass and in general it’s all good.
I have a couple more but I don’t want to keep this too long 😂
Anyway life is short. Tattoos are amazing. Get some!
I am a late bloomer to poetry as well. But I really enjoy it!
I love that 'carpe noctem' that's a great one. 'All good' as well, it's like my idea for 'impermanence'. Thank you for reading and commenting I appreciate it!
Also, your challenges have really unleashed some creative writing, my poetry included. So thank you for including everyone in your work. It's a welcome invitation and I'm glad I accepted it.
Villanelles are so hard! I haven’t written one in ages. You may have inspired me to try.
As for my tattoo list? It’s long, but first I want to get the dragonfly on my back covered up. I let a friend who was an apprentice talk me into it in college and I don’t really like it anymore. I want to get a big crow tattooed over it.
I’ve been thinking about getting a snake tattoo for the past 2 years, as it’s been my power animal and symbol. But then the infinity symbol has been coming in hot! So... I think I’m going to get the ouroboros symbol which combines the two... it represents death and rebirth, duality, heaven and earth!
Love this list of tattoos! I have lots of little ones - fingers, wrists - writing ones mainly and a Plath quote.
When I completed my masters I had to do a module in poetry, the Villanelle was the bane of my life - you did well to even attempt it!
Thank you for reading 🙏🏾!
I'm excited to one day get some!!
The villanelle was tough, I did try again though in my post the 'Indelible stain'. Haha it was closer to right.

I inspired myself to try another one as well. My next one will be more traditional, but I'm excited to give it a shot!!
Crows have great symbolizim!! I have this book with animal totems. I just thought one day I may use that for tattoo inspiration.
I love crows, I put them in my stories a lot. They’re such smart birds.
Oh, I like it!!

My pleasure and edification!
You do set my mind on unexpected paths. What a gift!
Thank you for sticking around for the journey!!
